It comes in two formats
Luxury vinyl flooring comes in two formats: luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and luxury vinyl tile (LVT). Depending on your preference, the LVP comes in planks of varying length and width, and LVT comes in squares of various sizes. LVP is flexible and molds well to the subfloor, so you want to remove any damage from the subfloor before you put it down. LVT is firmer and harder to the touch. LVP and LVT are both waterproof so that they won't curl, warp, or ripple when exposed to water. This makes it an ideal product for a higher-than-normal moisture area, like a basement. It can also go in bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms.
Appearance
Thanks to today's technology, the design layer of the LVP and LVT is a three-dimensional representation of what you desire. So it has width and depth to it. If something were to gouge the floor due to the depth factor, it would not be noticed in the design layer. The design layer faithfully reproduces wood, stone, brick, and tile to an exacting degree.
Multilayer Construction
Both LVP and LVT have a multilayer construction to them. The core layer is pressed with a backing layer and a top layer. Some manufacturers put an extra coating layer on top of the top layer to prolong the floor's life. Most luxury vinyl flooring is 8 millimeters thick. However, if you want thicker, you will find it in our flooring store. You can get up to 20 millimeters of thickness. The thicker the floor, the longer the lifespan of the flooring.
